Are AI powered programs making people's lives easier by generating workflows, creating templates, generating some kinds of so called art and music pieces or simply by answering your questions etc? They kind of do. But at what cost?
I am not planning to debate whether an AI powered softwares are angels or demons, using it is ethical or not, whether they are stealing jobs or not or keeping children from using their minds etc.
What is real is that this tech is already here for quite some time in different forms and is advancing.
I just want to draw your attention to a few points here because I started to see it more and more like an addiction. The drug of the tech era.
It is easy to get, easy to use and easy to generate "something".
They even let you try it for free :)
There are lots of them almost for every need.
You buy one for one of your needs, and then you buy a second one, then another and another. And another 20. And you pay for them. Well this is one downside.
What I am trying to draw your attention to is that the more you use AI powered softwares, the more you may lose your soft skills.
And the more you use these tools, the more intelligent they become. They learn from you.
They go forwards, you go backwards and you will not meet anywhere.
Briefly, the more you get addicted to these tools, the more vulnerable you will become.
You'll become only as talented as the software you use. And you will become only as reliable as the tool you use which can easily be manipulated by the owning company or by the company you work at. Simply, you are now in the hands of service providers.
I am not trying to provoke doubt and distrust or make you paranoid etc.
Just saying that your talent, soft skills, your real knowledge, your thoughts, your enthusiasm, your energy are invaluable!
So, just don't to scrap these and your books yet :)
I call this the Hybrid Era. It is here to fool with our minds :)
